About Rebuilding Together Duneland

Mission Statement:

Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of financially-burdened (or low-income) homeowners, assuring that they live in warmth, safety, dignity and independence.

Who we are:

Rebuilding Together Duneland is an affiliate of Rebuilding Together (headquartered in Washington,D.C.), the nation's largest nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to rehabilitating communities and houses of financially struggling homeowners, focusing strongly on the elderly, physically challenged and those with children.

When and who we serve:

Our annual work day is typically the last Saturday in April. We also have a year-round emergency fund. Rebuilding Together Duneland serves those who live in the Duneland School District (Chesterton, Porter and Burns Harbor).

Our effectiveness:

For every dollar Rebuilding Together Duneland raises, we are able to provide $4 of goods and services to our recipients – a return on investment we are very proud of.
